[Yaesu] FT-1000D with AF Out for Digital Modes

I have connected my FT-1000D to my laptop and Super Combo Keyer II for
future use of digital modes.

I have loaded MMTTY for the first time and attempted to receive RTTY signals
with this application.

I have an AF Out from the Yaesu FT-1000D going to the Line In of my Dell
Latitude laptop.

I also have the headphone audio out from the laptop going to the Mic input
of the SCK-II with a voltage divider in between to drop the audio voltage
some before going into the SCK-II Mic Input.

When I tune the MMTTY program, I have no audio out levels from the AF Out on
the back of the Yaesu FT-1000D going to the laptop audio Line In, however,
when I disconnect the AF Out from the FT-1000D and re-connect this same 3/8
mm audio connector into the FT-1000D external speaker output, the audio does
drive the MMTTY program through the laptop computer Line In connector. The
AF audio gain control does change the audio level going to the MMTTY
program.

So, why am I not getting any audio output readings from the fixed 200mv
audio level from the AF Out on the back of the FT-1000D?

Could the audio out or AF Out be disabled, or is the audio level very low?

I need to get the receive working first and then need some help in sending
RTTY both AFSK and FSK via my SCK-II.

Secondly, I have an LPT cable running between the SCK-II and my laptop. This
cable works fine for CW, PTT, DVK, and for other features.

I just connected a serial cable (DB-9 to DB-9) between the SCK-II Comm port
and the laptop serial Comm 1 port, however, I need to re-wire the RS-232
cable to have only pins 2,3 and 5 connected. With all of the straight thru
wires connected, the CW light on the SCK-II stays illuminated constantly.

I also have a CI-V interface with a single mono 3/8 mm connector between the
CI-V interface on the back of the SCK-II running over to the RTTY Din plug
interface on the \FT- 1000D.

The idea here is to be able to run RTTY FSK from the laptop serial port
(Comm 1) over to the SCK-II serial port (DB-9), and then transmit the RTTY
from the SCK-II CI-V interface over to the FT-1000D RTTY Input which is a
Din plug interface using (Shift and Ground) by driving (Pins 1 and 4).

Anyway, any ideas on how to get the RTTY working on my rig for both Receive
and Transmit would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim
