[Yaesu] FT-920

I was using my FT-920 @ V26DX for ARRL DX SSB. I had to take it out of 
line due to distorted transmit audio. Many reports of "running ur 
compressor too hard", etc.  Using Heil Proset, changed mic/headsets, no 
change in problem.  Problem with either element. Processor In/Out didn't 
matter,  Same reducing mic gain.  Noticed at times almost no indication 
of ALC, even with Mic Gain set to normal ALC readings. Stored "DVK 
messages"  from both the radio or an SCKII Combo Keyer also distorted.  
"MIC EQ" is "OFF" in menu. I don't know if this a new or old problem.  
Operate CW 99% of the time.  Have read in some archives of possible 
issues with Heil mics.

Any comments/advice would be appreciated.  Also, if a "known" shop 
manual for the 920 is avaialble, I'd be all over it.  It is not 
available at mods.dk.  And....... A fair and reputable reair service for 
this problem if I can't research/repair it myself.
