  Yes, and they're not good...  unless you moved a finger contact that
connects the audio out to either the speaker or external output, my
SWAG is that you might have blown the audio amp chip. Years ago,
that was a LM386. No idea what it'd be nowadays, especially in a
surface-mount critter. There's also a small chance that the audio amp
has its' own fuse, which might have blown, but I kinda doubt it...

  If it's under warranty, send it back... if not, find someone local to you
that you trust, that can open it up and examine it. I've had my FT-50
apart a few times, but I'm afraid I'm too far from you to do you much
good..
