[Yaesu] FT-857, FT-897, FT-100D

Am saving up for the '857.  Want to hear from other hams about these three rigs.  I'd like to know if the power output on the '857, '897 can be reduced to 5 watts for QRP use or am I limited to the 100W reported output on HF?  Should I set my sights lower on the 100D?
