[Yaesu] FT 1000D Rom Ver 6

I have just completed upgrading my 1991 FT 1000D to rom version 6 (from
version 5.84).  It went well. I am wondering whether it offers anything
different from the older version other than compatibility for computer
control.

While I was at it, I also added the 600 cycle CW filter for the
sub-receiver.  That also went well.  In retrospect, I wonder why that
filter was not included with the FT 1000D which came fully equipped with
all of the other filters.  The slight increase in price would have been
insignificant considering the price of the radio.

I will say that wrestling the 50 plus pounds of radio on the work bench
to remove the covers while trying to fend off the cat who repeatedly
wanted to jump up on the bench to better see what was going on was an
interesting experience.  That made it obvious to be that I really do
need CAT control.  That will be my next purchase!
