[Yaesu] FT 211 Stuck on transmit

If unplugging the mic unkeys it, then the mic is probably going bad....it COULD input of the PTT has a leaky bypass cap which holds the PTT low..I'll have to look over the FTx11 service manuals..my 311/711 combo was stolen years ago (I miss those rigs...that green LCD and the audio out of them were better than my 742 is now!) Had them nicely stacked where I could remove either one and snap the other down to the console (I used two snap in mounts..put them top of the 220 and on my console hump in my S10 Blazer; that way either rig could go to the bottom or they would stack one on top of the other with the 220 on the bottom..and they could BOTH be easily removed together..which is how the thiefs got them (but they CUT the power cable..geesh all they had to do was pull on them and they unplugged! dirty scums!)

BTW IF anyone find a FT311 or 711 with the 711 having COMMERCIAL channels on the display instead of memories..(I did the mod which allowed that) and the 311 missing the cover plate on its DTMF mic on/off button, let me know!..also the power leads were cut short to the RADIO so the inline bullets are missing from the factory..but considering this was a while back, I doubt they will ever be recovered...(Channel 0 on UHF had a 450.2125 rptr in it; for listening only of course... :)

It is not the microphone, it gets stuck with a second microphone.
Some times I hear static coming out of the speaker during transmit.
Any tips ?
