Your thoughts on Yahoo!'s policies are well-taken. However, remember that
you don't HAVE to tell all to join, even if they say you do. You could make
up a totally fuffnik identity and even use their email service for junk
mail!

Become a member, pretend you only have their email box, set all your
marketing preferences to OFF, and remember, the Yahoo! group has a
non-advertising way to read messages mentioned on the front page. If you
play your cards right you can work around the system very nicely, never
being bothered by SPAM and picking up a free junk mail account for those
times you HAVE to provide an email address to gain access to a website you
would rather not really have your address.
