When I bought my FT-1000D, I bought it used. I called Yaesu and asked them
if I had the latest firmware upgrade in my model. They told me that all I
had to do was send the radio to them and they would align it, upgrade it an=
d
do all the mods that had been introduced since my radio was built.

I had to pay to ship it out to them but I don't remember if they charged me
to ship it back. The service work was done at no charge on a used radio!
