[Yaesu] FT-530 Battery Source/Info?

Yaesu HT batteries are not the best, my first FNB25 failed under warranty, replacement
not much better. Currently have an HC-091NM-FNB25M from W & W Manufacturing
Co. It's a 7.2 1000mAh NiMH battery, about 3 years old now and still good. It
can be charged with either the wall wart or a drop in charger. Fit and finish
of battery to 530 is very good but not perfect, definitely good enough. I have
kept my 530 in a pouch from the beginning and it still looks like new. I tried
to open an original FNB-25 and couldn't get it cut cleanly, ended up throwing
it away. The batteries seemed to be potted in the case and I couldn't get them
out without tearing up the case. Also have an FNB-12 that holds AA cells of
any kind, they are not charged in place. Makes a good backup and voltage is
higher than 7.2. Hope this is of interest.
