On Saturday, Jan 25, 2003, my son (KC8PGP) lost his VX5 while on a ski trip
with his Boy Scout Troop 140 from Xenia, OH. He lost it when going down a
hill at the Perfect North Slopes in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. He was using to
keep in touch with the Scoutmaster of the Troop.

The radio was set to 146.580 simplex on low power (0.3 watts). The radio
was locked such that you could not change the frequency without unlocking
it; however, someone could transmit. The serial number of the VX5 is
OC222175. The battery was marked with a permanent marker on the inside of
the battery with the label "HALLER". The antenna is slightly bent at the
base and is leaning toward the knobs about 4 degrees from a true vertical
position.

I have called the Perfect North Slopes several times and asked them if
anyone has returned the radio, and it has not been found. So, I am offering
$50 reward for its return.

Thanks & 73s,
