[Yaesu] FT-1000MP MK V keying SB-220

Dave,
Thanks for the comment. Please note that I was referring to the Yaesu
internal relay, not the solid state option that is selectable. I did read
the manual carefully enough to note that Yaesu has conflicting information
in the paragraph of non-QSK amplifiers. They refer to the SB220 as having
negative keying voltage, which is wrong. And the ratings they provide are
as I state in my message. Regardless, I was surprised that the internal
relay is rated so low that it could not key the 220.
I have keyed this amp directly with the internal relay in my (now retired)
TS940 for years with perfect performance. It is all dependent on the
contacts of the transceiver relay involved. So, it is not always a given...

Perhaps an SB102, or a TR4 would be happy to key the SB220 directly, but
anything that starts with TS, FT, or IC??? I thought it was a given that
you use an external relay.
