I see we're all in  sync... I have a full-sized vertically polarized 40 meter loop that I shot through two trees using the same method.  I put it up two years ago with 
heavily insulated wire that won't arc through the insulation.  Loops are great in that there are no super-high impedences along the line that would cause flashing 
through the insulation with even fairly high power levels.  A 40 meter loop also resonates nicely on 20, 15, and 10.  (albeit with a lousy radiation pattern on the 
higher bands)
