[Yaesu] FT1000D AGC -off behaviour

(Geez, I wish this reflector sent everyone's reply back to the whole list).

Thanks for the advice, guys, but I know what AGC is and what it does.  My
question was regarding the *complete disappearance* of audio on strong
signals.  I would expect all the stages would be overloaded and producing
heavily distorted output....but....what happens is that audio disappears
completely, but only for S9+ sigs.  Has anyone tried this on their FT-1000D?
