The 101 is not even close to the others in terms of receiver dynamics. The 101
is a fine radio it it's own right considering when it was developed. But the
receiver easily overloads. The 990 is an excellent performer and has some
great things about it. (like that SCAF filter) It also has excellent dynamic
range and blocking stats. The 1000D with it's quad conversion, powerful front
end, and excellent audio amplifier would be very evident to you. I can't say
too much about the Mark V since I'm not close to anyone that uses one. I'm a
bit wary of some of the production problems they've had. They'll likely get
those ironed out with time though.
