[Yaesu] ft900 and rascal

anybody out there using a Rascal interface with the ft900? i notice that =
there is a data port that sends constant level audio and also accepts =
audio from the TNC(before the soundcard days). would it be feasible to =
use this arrangement rather than the patch in and  speaker ports? i  =
would be interested in hearing what is working for guys who use this =
setup with a soundcard..
