hi folks  i did a hard reset and the lock up problem vanished..  however the
"mild" flicker persists  ..  as i examine the display with a magnifying
glass, the "gold glow" of each digit  varies on each digit itself...    the
horizontal component and the vertical component of "a" particular digit
varies on the same digit...   i am wondering if the display is going bad, or
the dc to dc converter  is bad...  or a cold connection somewhere???
