Try the following --
Leave the regular ft100 mic connected where it normally goes.

Wire the voice keyer to the mini din data jack on the rear. 

pin 1 is data -- audio
pin 2 is ground
pin 3 is ptt -- ground on xmit.

connect any old mic to the voice keyer to record messages
