[Yaesu] Help : FT-1000D poor CW/QSK performance

I own an FT-1000D, serial number 1H140015 and it suffers from a poor CW =
sidetone that is harsh upon start and finish.  Almost sounds like a key =
click.  This sidetone problem, along with some "thumping" of the =
sidetone upon  T/R switching, makes the rig a poor performer in QSK mode =
in my opinion.

How does your FT-1000D perform in QSK mode?  Anyone else run into this =
issue?  Any mods or rig updates that I need to incorporate to get the =
FT-1000D to work better with CW/QSK?
