[Yaesu] Yaesu FT1500M mobile 2 mtr rig

Purchased above rig April 2002. Installed in 1985 GMC Suburban (wired direct
to battery, through firewall using existing grommeted hole, mounted to steel
underdash).
Problem:
Every time I stop at an intersection with multiple traffic lights, video
cameras and pedestrian signals, the rig locks up while scanning and the
squelch roars open.  The light turns green, I drive away maybe � block and
the rig resumes normal operation.  Same thing happens whether the rig is
scanning or not.
Your help appreciated.
