I purchased a well cared for FT-990 a few days ago and notice a quirk with
the S meter. With no incoming signal the S meter rests on S2 instead of
zero. Could I be overlooking some setting that would effect the normal
opoeration of the S meter? The RF gain is fully opened to the right but I do
notice that when the RF gain is closed fully to the left, the S meter goes
off scale all the way past +60.
Also I have an Amp Supply LA-1000A linear. I need to verify use of the
pinouts on the "remote" din plug of the FT-990. For T/R switching through
the internal switching transistor I use #4 pin hot to linear input, #3 to
ground? For T/R switching through the internal relay I use use #4 pin hot to
linear input, #5 common relay contact as ground?
