[Yaesu] I apologize to the reflector for my...

Oops, Murphy is alive and well... I don't know what I hit to send that as I
was typing; I guess it just proves I'm human like everybody else... anyhow,
as I was starting to say, I read what John said:

"When you compare receiver audio the Pro wins hands down. The pro has the
ability to hear from 100 to 3.6k ....... the FT- 1000 has narrow ssb
crystal filters that are setup for contesters and are about 2.3k wide total
with an effective audio response of only 300 to 2.6k at the -6db points on
Xmit or receive depending on the carrier point alignment on that particular
rig...I have had a measured both and the Icom has superior fidelity !!!
You need to learn how to use the pro's digital filter !! And that is coming
from a loyal yaesu man

 73's John"

I've read this several times, and I don't see an attack there. I guess it's
certainly possible that different people can/will take the same statement
different ways, but myself, I didn't interpret anything said there as a
flame.

One of the things that really attracted me to Ham Radio was the friendly,
helpful attitude of other hams. Myself, John's statement about learning the
digital filters was an attempt to help you improve the performance of your
radio, not to flame you... but, as we've both said, we need to drop this
subject, and get on with the purpose of this reflector, so I'll step off my
soapbox.

73's to all,

-= Brian
