[Yaesu] 2.8kHz Collins filter for the FT-900 for $50.00???

     I work on a lot of radios , Mods & all.... People think the new radios
are better than the old rigs. In some cases the are. There better in the
synthesizer & computer features. But in the RF areas sometimes there not.
Receiver architecture has not change in 20 years ... Yea the part numbers
change , IC here or there, But still the same stuff. People just don't seem
to understand this. For instance I have Yaesu FT-102 . that has one of the
best receiver yaesu every made & has wonderful audio to boot.... It's so
good it does not even have an antenuator ..And does not need it !! it's just
about overload proof... That rig is 20 years old !! I compared the 102  to
the 990 & 1000MP It just blows them away !! Of course I sold the MP along
time ago ...Goes to show you new is not always better. But I hate to say
it.... Hams theses days really don't know what a good receiver is .....
Heck,  most of them Don't even know how to operate the radios they own....
Kind of  Sad !!
