I just tried this test and I have the HISS.
I have never had a problem hearing or working a DX station and I don't
understand the implications on recieving DX stations.
I am not a TECH person like some of you but the REC works for me.
I also purchased a Kenwood TS-570D a few months ago and I really haven't even
used it. But I tried this test. I cannot hear any HISS on the TS-570D.
Does that mean that I should hear the DX better with the TS-570D?
I need to play with these radios and try this with a DX station and see which
radio I hear better with.
And do I really need to hear it better if I can work DX that anyone else can
hear. Maybe it's important on the LOW bands. But my 80 FULL wave loop works them
and
hears them good enough for me.
Boy this could really get carried away when you start discussing REAL SPECS and
performance of the radio as compared to everyday use.
We all know what a great radio the FT 990 is, that's why I bought it.
