Ray:

The LCD display has 4 small orange lamps. I ordered mine from Yaesu and
installed them myself. There is an instruction sheet around for this
operation, but I don't have it at the moment. Maybe someone here can help on
this. One caveat, be careful closing it up and don't pinch any cables.

Subject: [Yaesu] FT-8500 question

I recently acquired an FT-8500. The "bulb" in the display is not working. I
have gone to the menu item that controls the dimmer and that is set to
bright. I started to take the faceplate apart but was afraid to force it
open. Has anyone experienced ths problem with this rado or a similar one?
Has anyone replaced the "bulb" in the display?
