Doug,

thanks for your help last week - Test4MP did the trick. The PC
did not see the MK V because I was using a null modem instead
of a standard serial cable.

I tested TRX manager with the FT900 too - a really neat program!

Again, thanks.
Stefano, KD1CF.

Mike, I sent this yesterday, but didn't see it on the reflector yet.
Could be my fault....does this help?

Mike I would try a few things:
First....download Test4MP at http://www.va3cr.net/index/software.html
And ensure that your computer sees the MP. If not, is could be the
cable, com ports etc. If that is ok.....

Secondly, make sure that you set your com port settings in TRXManager as
follows:
Transceiver: FT1000MP MKV
Com Port: Choose the one that Test4MP found.
DTR: Enabled
RTS: Disabled (this may be optional, but mine is
disabled)
Dual Control: Enabled
OLE: Enabled
CAT Speed: 4800 (I think the program sets this for you)

Thirdly, if that doesn't work, try the TRX Manager Troubleshooting pages
at: http://home.nordnet.fr/~llabourie/support.htm
They are the best I have seen for this kind of software.

If all else fails, you can email Laurent (the author) at
[email protected]

Good luck

Hi Gang,

anyone out there who has connected his PC to the MKV, and is using TRX
Manager to control it? I tried the connection (no interfaces, no cable
according the user's manual), and I keep getting
a connction error - the PC does not see the MKV.

Anyone would like to share his settings and his experience
in connecting the MKV? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Stefano, KD1CF.
