The 2M and 70cm bands have differing band edges from here to Europe...

Best of my knowledge is (and thanks to a correction from Chris Boone on this
reflector) :

 2M:      US 144-148,  Euro 144-146
70cm: US 420-450.  Euro 430-440
  note: US is 430-450 within 75 miles of the Canadian border)


Most of the HT makers are using a 430-450 radio for the US market.  Very few
people need much of the band-plan's 420-430 types of services with an HT.
