[Yaesu] FT-2600M Memory Loss

The memory losses are not random.
I have had the great joy of installing and maintaining aprox. 40=20
FT-2600's. And have found that it is virtually guaranteed that any low=20
voltage (less than10 volts) while the radio is on will clear all memories,=
=20
almost without fail. It usually is caused by a combination of poor=20
installation practices and transmitting or starting vehicle while the radio=
=20
is turned on. My most recent purchases do not seem to be less susceptible.
With a good install & adequate batteries/wireing, the problem does not show=
=20
up. It also helps to install a normally closed relay activated by the=20
starting circuit to eliminate the need to turn the radio off when starting=
=20
the vehicle.
Otherwise, the radio is very trouble free.
