Most any of the inexpensive 500W to KW class tube amps will produce about=20
50 to 150 watts out with 5 watts of drive.
Also building a single band solid state amp at this frequency can be done=20
fairly cheaply using inexpensive power FET's which are otherwise designed=20
for DC switching applications. There have been number of articles on these=
=20
in the past. I saw one somewhere that used hi voltage FETS and was powered=
=20
directly from the 110 VAC outlet using no power transformer, just a simple=
=20
half-wave rectifier and a bodacious power supply filter.
Simple home brew single band amps using grid drive and sweep tubes and junk=
=20
box parts from old TV sets are easily capable of giving you 500 watts out=20
as well.
In either of the above cases the headaches and cost go up when you try to=20
design band switching in, single band amps are really simple and cheap to=20
homebrew.
