The XYL (Judy, W6YBS) and I attended the M-Squared open house for the
first time on Saturday.

The event was obviously well-attended, as we had to park about three
blocks away from their buildings.

Several vendors were present, including Yaesu and HRO. It was nice to
see Janet, the manager of the Anaheim HRO store, as usual.
There was a VE testing session and card checking, as well.

Frank (not sure of his callsign) was doing an EME demonstration using
the JT65 software.
I guess this is the face of EME today. Frank said that maybe one or two
operators out of 100 might be using CW these days.

Matt, son of the M2 owners and general manager, gave a thorough tour of
the facility and explained start-to-finish the fabrication process that
all of their products go through.

Soon after, an excellent BBQ lunch was provided for everyone: burgers,
hot dogs, chips, potato salad and soft drinks.

Just before the raffle drawing, a touching tribute to Larry Hogue,
W6OMF, was paid.
Larry passed away last year. I had the privilege of meeting him several
years ago at his station, when we were visiting Davis.
His wife, Sue, was in attendance.

Thank you, M2 staff and volunteers, for a fantastic event.
