[Wswss] K7XC Report - June 20 2010 - 6M Es into EU... Again!!!!!!!!!!

Greetings from Fallon Nevada, DM09nm...

When I awoke this morning I staggered into the radio room, turned the rig on
and immeadiately heard a 59 K8WFN in EN90 calling CQ on 50.125.
Worked him @ 13:28Z. So much for my morning shower!

After our contact was complete I swung the antenna up to 30 degress and 
began
tuning the band thinking "maybe I can get lucky again today and work some 
more
Europeans on 50 Mhz today.... Little did I know what lay in store for the 
next few
hours.

At 1356Z I tuned past some moderately loud CW. Centering up on his frequency
of 50095.8 was found S53A calling CQ!!! I was floored! he was stable and 
strong, true
549 to 559. Repeated calls met with no joy.

At 14:09Z I found E70T CQing with a true 579 signal and worked him easily.

At 14:14Z I found a 569 HA1DH calling CQ and again repeated calls met with 
no joy.

At 14:21Z a 569 SV1DH was found CQing and worked fairly quickly. WOW!!!

At 14:38Z PA0O was 559 to 579 and worked easily.

At 15:00Z a 549 IK5MEN was found CQing but no joy.

At 15:24 a 579 IK5MEJ was easily worked for new country #4 today! FOUR!!!!!

Shortly there after the band seemed to shift away and quiet down so my lady 
and I
went to the local Eagle pancake breakfast for a well deserved morning meal.

Arriving home I was surprised to hear the band once again open to EU and
at 16:23Z a 569 9A1CCY went into the log for new country # 5 today! Amazing!

Spinning the band again it seemed to peak back up again lasting 10 minutes 
or so and
at 16:33Z a 579 EA6SX was very quickly worked for country #6 today!

Add that to working CT1HZE /CT1EEB on the 10th and ON4GG on the 19th that
makes 8 new DXCC countries on 6M in a bit over a week! and ALL OF THEM
EUROPEANS! That has NEVER happened in my life... EVER! What an amazing 
day...

Mind you.... all of this was done with a IC-746 putting out only 80 watts 
into a
Homebreww 6 ele yagi on a 30 ft boom up 40 feet fed with 70 feet of CQ-106
low loss RG-8 style coax and NO preamp.

I cringe when people use the highly over used phrase "Magic Band" describe 
50 Mhz...
but today it lived up to that title and then some... I look at the log and 
shake my head
in utter amazement still.

And for those that say CW is dead.... None of these contacts would have 
happened on
Phone.... CW is King,  Long live the King!

LIFE IS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!

PS: 18:28Z Just worked KL7/KB7Q on 50098 with a 559 signal... OHHH! Maybe 
JA's today too!
