[Wswss] 7/8 INCH HELIAX; connector compatibility

Just to clarify -
"IF" the RFS in question is the newer type of cable, they are purported to interchange with Andrew. That being said, I've no experience with this as I will only use Andrew when engineering a new site or during a rebuild.
At 2 o'clock in the morning on a dark, stormy hilltop is no time to find out that all your cables coming into the entry port aren't exactly the same kind. ..... and oh by the way the spare you have in your truck, it's for the other one. :(

No, RFS and Andrew connectors are not made to interchange.

  This is good to know.....
Hmmmm... I seem to have a cut off stub piece of 7/8" that I THINK is RFS that is using a female Andrew Connector, P/N: L45 PN

The old, large spool is RFS.

Also there is a large spool of 3/4" 75 ohm hardline CATV cable at the same location. Problem is, the end plate of that CATV cable, wooden spool popped off, with attendant, difficult, but do-able requirement to carefully draw out the "unsprung cable" that popped off the end of the spool, without kinking...

    Guys,

If Vic, K6IC, who spoke, and is next in line for the 7/8" spool, wants to pick up the spool in Meadow Vista, on the way to or from the Emcomm, it can be arranged. If the Spool has excess to Vic's needs, perhaps he can work a deal with some of you who are looking. No Connectors here. Can load the spool into a truck bed or flatbed trailer.

Don't know the exact length on the spool, can be determined by start and end cable markings, and/or inspection; Photos attached.

This LDF5-50A is made by RFS. I wonder if that is identical with Andrew Cable LDF-50A. I would presume so. Can we assume LDF5 -50A is a generic ID?

    Best Regards, 73,

These connectors are the high quality silver plated, ring flare, N female type useable well into the 6 GHz range. I prefer using the N female connector on the larger cable as it makes connecting up an N male jumper quite easy. I also believe that I have the 7/8" grounding kits available for this cable too in your interested.

    > I am still improving the antennas and feed lines up at our Sierra CM99 QTH and I need at least two N connectors (male and/or female) for 7/8 inch Andrew Heliax LDF5-50A. I also need yet another 140 foot length of 7/8 Heliax preferably with N connectors already installed. Please respond to me at K6XN at ATT.NET if you have any N connectors for 7/8 inch Heliax LDF5-50A for sale or if you know someone who has Heliax LDF5-50A or connectors for sale. Thanks and 73, Ted, K6XN

    > PS My home QTH is in Saratoga in the Bay Area. If a source is located reasonably close to either Saratoga in the Bay area or in the Sierras near Nevada City I have a trailer and I would be pleased to travel and pay for and pick up the Heliax and/or connectors.
