BTW, not a serious contester at all...
6m 113 QSOs 81 Grids
Equip: 5 el yagi at 20', FT-726R, 150W.
This was "luxury" operating to me, as the usual complement is my mobile
3-ring halo at 8' and 100W. Signals were so loud for so long on Saturday
that I had to turn down the RF Gain on the RX...and this isn't exactly
"intermod alley"!
Also discovered that the PLL in an FT-726 will unlock at an ambient temp of
about 93degrees...it got that hot in the shack (not air-conditioned) and it
took me 20 minutes to figure out why I couldn't hear anything. This was in
the middle of the AZ-VE4/5 opening so I missed out on nearly all of
that. Air-conditioning is "on the list" but now is higher up!
Added 27 all-time new grids to push well above 300...Saturday was quite a day!
