[WSWSS] Another question re: SINAD and SSB

Question:
I'm measuring an SSB receiver. I inject an RF signal, adjust the RX
frequency until the audio tone is 1kHz, and make a SINAD measurement. Say
it's 12dB.
Thought Experiment: If I supplied an SSB signal of the SAME PEP to the
receiver (e.g., the signal generator were an off-air signal that switched
from CW to SSB), and the transmitted SSB signal were perfect (phase noise
and distortion-free), would the true SINAD still be 12dB? Or different,
and why? No changes are made to the RX during the test (no change in IF
bandwidth).
Real Experiment: Is there a way to measure SINAD on a real SSB signal? Or
maybe an artificial approximation, like say a three tone signal?
Thanks...
