Hi Mike,

Very, very interesting ..... it's a long shot to be the same rig, but it 
sure is possible!!

I have 4 or 5 Globe Scouts at home, ( I am at work right now ).  I will 
check them
all this weekend and drop you another email next Monday to let you know 
what I find.

Long story short:  A couple years I bought a Heath DX-20 and VF-1 VFO at 
the Timoium
ham fest ( $35 ... what a deal! ).  It had been highly modified for 
great sounding AM audio,
and done very well with all the doco in a nice folder. Several weeks 
later I fired it up on
40 meters (7290) and was in QSO with Guy W1FRM, the long and short of it 
was that
Guy was the person who modified the DX-20 years before .... and he was 
my first
contact with that DX-20.
What are the odds of that I wonder.

So I guess that really could be your old rig!!
