Digital FSQ 9:30-10:15 Presented by Warren Pugh, KC9IL
You may have read the article on the Fast Simple QSO (FSQ) in the September 2015 issue of QST. FSQ is a sentence based (line-by-line) digital chat mode for HF and VHF, developed by Con ZL2AFP and Murray ZL1BPU a year ago. FSQ is intended for fixed frequency (channelized) operation, with dedicated calling frequencies - not as a 'tune around to see what you can find' mod. It was developed primarily for local area communications ("NVIS" - more on that during the presentation!) but also works for DX. It requires the use of either the FSQCall or FLDigi software packages, which are FREE! Come listen to Warren Pugh, KC9IL, as he describes how FSQ works, it's many unique features, and how to get it up and running at your home, mobile, or portable station. Warren also plans a live demonstration.

VHF/UHF Digital Voice 11:30-12:15 Presented by Mark Thompson, WB9QZB
Hams use several different Digital Voice modes on VHF and UHF. P25, DMR and NXDN Digital Voice modes were designed for public safety and commercial use and have been adopted by some hams. D-STAR and the newer System Fusion digital voice mode are designed exclusively for ham radio. This forum will review and compare these digital voice modes with a focus on System Fusion.
