For those of you who are V/UHF-curious, I have a little bit
of info to add to Mark Thompson's earlier email.
Specifically want to direct those who are interested to my
website -- www.kc9bqa.com. There's always more info
available there.

If you want the latest info about tomorrow night's 432 sprint
or the weekly 2m long-range nets, it's available at kc9bqa.com.

My 432 has been fouled up for months; but I'll help by talking
up the sprint while I'm net control on 144.240 tomorrow night.

On or near 432.100 MHz tomorrow night, using horizontally-
polarized antennas, we want to highlight the following rovers:
WB8BZK will be roving EN52/62/51/61 tomorrow night.
    KA9RSL will be roving EN61/71/60/70.
K0GEM will be roving EM28/38/39/29 (admittedly a long
shot, but track him on his APRS, or see if he wants to do a sked.)
More complete details are at my website, if you want them.

You may not know about rovers if you're unfamiliar with VHF
contests. Rovers are our single best friends. They take their radio
show on the road and drive to high spots in various grid squares to
make contacts in the contests. If you never pursued VHF because
you are antenna-restricted or have a poor QTH, you can make your
mark by becoming a rover. If you have a sincere interest, I am able
to help answer questions, plus steer you toward others who have
actually roved.
Allow me to steer you to three sources of rover eye candy... :)
http://www.k0gem.us/ (click on "rover station" on the left)
www.qrz.com (enter N0DQS for the callsign lookup and make
sure to look all the way to the bottom. The 2 pictures at the bottom
are the best)
    http://w9fz.com/janvhf08/page_travelogue.html (make sure you
click on the "photo album" tab on the upper right)
Without a doubt, my best VHF contest memories always include
multiple rovers that I enjoyed working.

Even if you don't care about VHF, many hams will enjoy those
3 links.

     73,
