   Good morning, list members --

Feel free to spread this QST in all directions. Contests
are only fun if they are active. Thanks, 73 -- Todd KC9BQA

The CQ WW VHF contest is today and tomorrow.
1800 UTC July 17 to 2100 UTC July 18th.
Rules link: http://www.cqww-vhf.com/

Expect at least some sporadic E skip on 6m, where the band
is open to various parts of the USA/VE, plus sometimes
XE-land and the Caribbean.

Tonight, overnight and into tomorrow morning, look for tropo
enhancement on 2m.

6 and 2m are basic VHF bands that many hams have. If you
want to hear what widespread activity sounds like away from
the repeater, today, tonight and tomorrow are great times. If
your QTH is poor, then consider going mobile to a high spot
and opping as a rover.

More info is available at kc9bqa.com. This includes rover plans,
plus helpful hints. If you get the VHF/UHF bug, then I suggest
these links for further study:
VHF Contesting School: http://kc9bqa.com/?p=2641
Presentation on "Weak-Signal" VHF/UHF: http://kc9bqa.com/?p=2816

You are free to pass those links to anyone you think might be
interested. The reason I do this VHF/UHF promotion is to
increase activity. More Activity = More Fun.

Thanks to those of you who have been helping get more signals
on the air. It's working -- there's more happening on VHF/UHF
around WI than there has been in at least 5 years.
