>From a quick web-surf I found reference to the PR40 using a 723 regulator chip. This is an old design regulator chip that tends to work a lot like a silicon fuse. I have fixed a lot of power supplies by just replacing this chip. Use a socket and it will save you even more time the next time around. You can probably use an Astron schematic as a reference guide and get about 95% of what is happening on your power supply. There is a repeater builder web site that is a good source of this type of info.

Does anyone know how to get schematic for tripp lite ? Seems they won't help you.  I'm fighting with one, need help. Thanks for any info.  Mike W9BHL at ARRL.NET   pr 40 is 13.8 V supply.
