Subject: SKYWARN: Today's Tornado Drill

A tornado drill will be conducted today. At 1
pm, a test tornado watch will be issued for all of Wisconsin.
The test
watch will be broadcast on participating media, the weather wire, and on the
NOAA Weather Radio
as a Required Weekly Test (RWT). Note: Some newer
weather radios will not receive the tone-activation for
the RWT; however,
you will hear the test messages broadcast if you turn your radio on.
The drill will conclude at 2 pm.

Many outdoor warning sirens are also
expected to be sounded. Remember outdoor sirens are only for people
outdoors (even if you can faintly hear it inside).
Not all communities have sirens, not every siren is working,
and you
need to be within 1-3 miles to hear the siren. Power failures and roaring
wind/rain make this tricky.
There is no all
clear signal.

The drill is designed to test your ability
to receive weather warnings, disseminate the message, then
activate
your safety/shelter plans. Whats your plan
for home, work, school, hospital, institution, or any large gathering
venues??????
