I tried something like that a couple of years back. Instructions in the
preamble actually included going back through the list of check-ins for
comments, but very few that volunteered as NCS did it. After around a year,
the only feedback I had about it was why did we do it, so I removed it from
the preamble.

That said, there is no reason anyone checking into the net cannot share any
announcements, or ask any questions. We could also do a more informal net
(no net control station) some other times during the week.

Let me know what you come up with, if anything.  We'll have the same issue
down here in Florida.  Our general meeting is 2nd Monday, nets are Thursday
nights.
