[WIARC] WIARC effort in the 2013 Rookie Roundup

To all WIARC members,

 

At the April meeting of the Western Illinois Amateur Radio Club, members
voted to stage a multi-operator effort in the upcoming single side band
section of the 2013 Rookie Roundup.  The Rookie Roundup is open to any
amateur who was licensed in the last 3 calendar years (2011, 2012, or 2013).
The 2013 SSB Rookie Roundup is this coming Sunday the 21st from 1800 to 2359
UTC (1:00 PM to 6:59 PM CDT).  Full rules are available at:

The WIARC entry will be a single station, multi-operator effort under the
club call sign W9OAB.  This will allow as many operators as possible to
operate from the club station. Any club member wishing to participate is
asked to email me to let me know your intensions.  This will allow detailed
planning.  Individual operator license class is not an issue as Extra Class
licensees will be on hand to mentor operators.  This will allow all
operators full HF privileges during the contest regardless of personal
license class.  

 

The starting time is 1 PM local time.  However, I will open the station by
11 AM to allow for operators to become familiar with equipment and to ask
questions about the operating procedures.  Anyone wishing to participate is
asked to come to the station at some point during the 11 AM to 12:30 PM time
frame to accomplish familiarization.  

 

Anyone intending to participate is first asked to read the full rules
available at the link above and to then send me an email to announce your
intentions.
