The NWS Pittsburgh has previously issued a Flash Flood Warning for Marion County. They have just issued a Flash Flood Warning for Preston and Tucker Counties.

The North Central West Virginia Skywarn Net will be activated now on the W8MWA repeater (145.430 MHz.) Please check in whether or not you are experiencing flooding at this time. The Flash Flood Warning follows.

844 AM EDT Wed May 27 2026

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southern Preston County in northeastern West Virginia...
  Tucker County in northeastern West Virginia...

* Until 1145 AM EDT.

* At 844 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.75 and 1.5 inches of
  rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches
  are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or
  expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
           drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Parsons, Davis, Thomas, Hendricks, Hambleton, Hannahsville, Lead
  Mine, Benbush, Blackwater Falls, Davisville, Saint George, Elk,
  Silver Lake, Canaan Hgts, Canaan Valley State Park, Red Creek,
  Cortland, Elgon, Pheasant Run and Pifer Moutain.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding via the North Central WV Skywarn Net, to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
