The NWS is suggesting that they may raise North Central West Virginia
to an *Enhanced
Risk* of Severe Thunderstorms.
An enhanced risk is 3/5, so while not the highest, it is up there in
severity. The official definition of Enhanced Risk is "*an area of greater
severe storm coverage with varying levels of intensity.*"
>From the NWS Pittsburgh:
Morning all. A busy morning and early afternoon is coming up. The NWS
Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma is in process of upgrading
parts of our area to Enhanced Risk of Severe thunderstorms, mainly for
damaging winds. This will evolve quickly over the next few hours.
Instability now located across southern OH/WV will race northeast and a
line of showers and thunderstorms will quickly develop and intensify once
it reaches North Central West Virginia and the WV/PA border.
