[W8MWA] Advisory: Level 2 Risk of Severe Weather Today

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has placed North Central West Virginia in a
Level 2 risk of severe weather today. This is one level (2 of 5) up from
yesterday. *If severe storms do develop, we will activate the North
Central; West Virginia Skywarn Net on the W8MWA two-meter repeater.*

At 07:00 EST we are experiencing rain and wind gusts of 20 MPH in
Morgantown. Note that radar indicates a line of stronger storms developing
to our southwest and headed in our direction.

As to the timing of the line of thunderstorms expected later today,
North Central West Virginia wjil be experiencing the threat from 12pm to
2pm. There also seems to be some potential for some discrete cells behind
the initial line during the afternoon.

SPC has upgraded the threat across our area to a slight risk (2 of 5). The
main threats will be winds, and the potential of tornado can't be ruled
out, especially since it has been increased to a 5% risk. Stay tuned for
further updates today.
