*Important Note *

Morgantown, Fairmont and all of Preston/Tucker have a Flood Watch in effect
from late tonight through Saturday afternoon.

*We are at a Level 2 Risk of Flooding.* Should this be turned into a Flood
Warning (meaning that flooding is occurring) we will activate the NC WV
Skywarn Net on the W8MWA two-meter repeater. So please stay flood aware and
monitor the repeater.

Details below from the NWS Pittsburgh:

Warmer temperatures will continue over the next couple of days. The process
of melting the snow on the ground and ice on the rivers will proceed.

A slow and steady melting is what we need to prevent flooding issues. What
this means is temperatures above freezing during the day and temperatures
dropping below freezing at night. Keep the rain away as well.

However, widespread rain will move into the area tonight and continue into
early Saturday morning. Still a good deal of uncertainty on rainfall
amounts, and determining how much snow will melt in the ridges is
difficult.

The other issue is the rain and snow melt could cause rises on streams and
creeks which may lead to ice jams. At this time, no points on any of the
rivers are forecasted to reach flood stage. But we also need to keep an eye
on local streams as well. Thus, the flood watch continues. We will be
watching the data and getting those rainfall amounts honed in.
