[W8MWA] Introduction

Good Morning,

It was a pleasure attending the monthly meeting last evening for MWA. i joined the club and i wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.

I currently reside in Westover WV our family relocated to the area from Charleston WV and also had a short four year stint over in Wheeling.

I am new to HAM radio holding a technician license with hopes to update soon to General.

Work has been a 30 year career in IT in several diverse industries holding experience with the physical cabling and wiring side, telco, networking and systems. making me somewhat of a IT Generalist. 

I have some RF experience managing and programming radios and repeaters in an industrial setting. i am also licensed on GMRS, and interested in putting a repeater online for GMRS in our community.

i hope to learn more about amateur radio and engage with the members of this group in the future.

i own a DMR radio as well as a Yeasu FT5D and a iCom Dstar HT as well. 

i’ve got the Yeasu one down pretty well but haven’t dug into the DMR or DStar modes yet much. the DMR radio setup is my next priority.

i’ll see you all at future meetings and checking into the nets around town.
