IC-7300 owners of MWA,
Has any of you had a similar experience as Peter, ZD7FT? I will pass it
on, but I expect that this event will be a seldom- or never-repeated glitch.
73,
Jan, KX2A

Hi Jan
Thank you and the members of the Monongalia Wireless Association. I will
certainly be using the information in due course. I have more to learn
on how to set the radio up for maximum performance.
Unfortunately Jan, I might have a problem in the making with the radio.
Nearly a week ago after an hours listening, the display disappeared off
the screen, so I was left with a blank screen. The power button light
was flashing, but the radio continued to receive. The radio did not
switched off. I touched the power button to switch the radio off, and
everything was back to normal operations.
I have been using the radio quite intensively since the display failure,
without any reoccurrence of the fault whatsoever. The radio is working
beautifully.
I have contacted the technical staff of the supplier who sold me the
rig, and they just simply said to send the rig back for repairs. I was
expecting them to offer a possible cause for the display failure. To
send the radio over 4,000 miles away, and the logistics that goes with
it, is a bit daunting to say the least.
I think I will not do this in a hurry so I will wait a while and
continue using the radio as I otherwise would, and see what happens.
However, if that is what it takes that I need to send it to the UK for
repairs (if it turns out that I do have a genuine fault) then that is
what I will have to do.
In the meantime, when next I talk to someone who has an IC-7300 I shall
ask them if their radio has had this malfunction, which lasted a few
seconds in my case.
73s Peter ZD7FT
