I stumbled upon a wideband SDR web site almost by accident this morning. It allows access to a Wideband SDR receiver located at the the University of Twente in the Netherlands. You can remotely tune, change modes and do other things with the SDR radio. This works from a PC, or a Mac. The URL is:
websdr.ewi.utwente.nl:8901
I was even able to control the SDR remotely from my iPad. They have a site specifically designed for iPhones, iPads and Andriod devices:
websdr.ewi.utwente.nl:8901/m.html
Very cool indeed!
For me it was fascinating to listen to 20 and 40 meters from a European perspective as opposed to the U.S. perspective that I am so familiar with today. There are many more international shortwave stations on the 40-meter band that can be heard during the daytime than here.
Listening to AM broadcast out of the Netherlands was fun. I couldn't understand much of what was said, but the music was nice.
In terms of broadband, I could tune and hear signals from 20 KHz to 30 MHz.
It's worth checking this site out.
