This just a quick over view of what you missed at last nights meeting...

Nomination of Officers for 2013 was held as per the club by-laws and so far we have as follows:

Sec./Tres. - Mig Crowe

Vice President - Randy Crowe, ???

President - Josh Smith

Jacob Tennant was nominated for another term as President but declined citing college class load and personal reasons. But will be active in supporting new President.


There are a few upcoming events of note:

October 6, 2012 - Mason Dixon Special Event Station from 8am to 8pm as W8V. Contact Randy Crowe (n8ozy at comcast.net) for further details as he wants to setup antennas on Friday night before the event.

October 6, 2012 - ARRL ARES Simulated Emergency Test will happens sometime after 4pm with a general radio-based call up. Information requested for each station responding is your home latitude & latitude as well as elevation. If you do not want to give this information, that is understandable. If you do not have a GPS or know anyone with a GPS, simply got to www.qrz.com, enter your call sign, in your detailed listing will be your information needed.

This activity should only last maybe one hour at the most.

October 13, 2012 - Jamboree On The Air, we will not be having a club set up as the Scouting council did not get the word out so there will not be any scouts out at the camp.

However, please feel free to get on the air independently to support the scouts by talking to the stations you will find on the HF bands. For more information go to www.scouting.org/jota for a listing of stations and frequencies.

December 2012 - Morgantown Christmas Parade - We have once again been asked by the Morgantown JayCees to assist them in coordinating the parade. If you want to help with this fun activity, please contact Jacob Tennant (wf8s at comcast.net) as he will handling the coordination.
