See attached offical synopsis.

Radio Amateurs in WEST VIRGINIA are Participating in PROJECT LIFESAVER.

West Virginia ARESR members, working in cooperation with their local
County Sheriff's Offices, are training, getting certified, and standing by
to assist using both County Issued specialized equipment and their
own ham radio gear.

Project Lifesaver operates on 216MHz. Some of the modern wide-band
amateur transceivers will also receive that frequency.

Hams know about Direction Finding - FOX HUNTS have been popular for years
at club meetings and hamfests. Those skills translate directly to the
Project Lifesaver operations and once certified, local hams work with the
Sheriff's Deputies in more than 30 of the 55 WV Counties, with new counties
coming on line all the time.

This year at the WV State Amateur Radio Convention at Jeckson's Mill WV,
which is our ARRL sanctioned Section Convention, an ARES R Forum was
presented
by the WV Coordinator for Project Lifesaver, Sue Patalano, and included
a display of the equipment used.

This is yet another way hams work to benefit their neighbors.
